Basel from the water
– one city, two banks, countless impressions
Discovering Basel from the water offers a whole new perspective on the city. Flowing right through the vibrant city center, the Rhine combines historical backdrops with modern city life. When paddling, you experience Basel from a unique perspective – and sometimes we simply enjoy drifting in the current.
Basel, the third largest city in Switzerland, offers very exciting contrasts. A city where historic buildings meet modern architecture. Basel is a must-see.
The face of Basel is of course very much shaped by one of Europe’s great rivers. The Rhine divides and connects the city in a unique way. Five bridges and four ferries connect the city. All of this has its own appeal and is inseparable.
The best view of this scenery is offered to those who have the privilege of floating on the water. The raft offers a fascinatingly different view of Basel, with its many faces and a very lively atmosphere, especially in summer.
Rafting through Basel is a special experience. Sometimes a cargo ship crosses our path. If you want to cool off in the water, there is a bathing area just before the border. Our tour starts just outside the city and takes us to the border triangle of Switzerland, France and Germany. Especially in summer, when the heat in the city is oppressive, it is a refreshing way to discover Basel.
