A fascinating view of the surrounding area opens up from the Rhine – an exciting mix of nature and urban life. History and modernity meet in Rheinfelden, separated by the river but united by a historic bridge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This tour has a lot to offer. Very often, modernity and history are very close together and yet together they create a very harmonious picture. We start at one of the most modern hydroelectric power stations in Europe, paddle past shell limestone cliffs, the former salt works and the old Z\u00e4hringer town of Rheinfelden<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Rhine is a major feature of this small town, whose medieval old town is rightly one of the most beautiful in Switzerland. After the old bridge, we gradually leave the city center behind us. We take a refreshing swim break<\/strong> at a waterfall<\/strong> with the misleading name “Warmbach” and then drift on towards Herten, our destination.<\/p>\n
